Carbon fiber and other materials wheel hub
Carbon fiber composites are often used in racing wheel hubs because of their high cost. Compared with other materials, carbon fiber composite material has lighter weight and better fatigue resistance, its vibration damping characteristics are special, not only can reduce the driving noise, but also less difficulty to repair the damage. The hub mass can be further reduced by using carbon fiber composite materials in vehicle hubs. In recent years, titanium alloy materials in automotive brake parts, hub modification and other fields have also been applied, titanium alloy has obvious advantages such as high heat resistance, low temperature resistance, but has a more complex processing technology, batch production is difficult to achieve.
Magnesium alloy hub
In recent years, magnesium alloy wheels have been gradually used in passenger cars, which have good mechanical properties and light weight. Compared with the ordinary hub, the heat dissipation performance of the magnesium alloy hub is better. By optimizing the structure of the hub, the heat generated by the braking system can be quickly discharged to the air. At the same time, the magnesium alloy hub has a large space to play in the shape design. By designing the magnesium alloy hub tire wider, the forward grip, braking effort and vehicle control can be enhanced. Due to the lighter weight of the magnesium alloy hub, the overall mass of the vehicle can be reduced, thus reducing the fuel consumption of the vehicle. The magnesium alloy hub can absorb the vibration of the vehicle and improve the ride stability of the vehicle. However, it should be noted that aluminum alloy hub has more complex processing technology and higher cost, and is prone to corrosion problems. In addition, compared with the traditional alloy material, the magnesium alloy has a relatively low elastic modulus, if the hub deformation does not exceed the limit range, it will recover quickly, which reduces the seismic sensation of the vehicle. Compared with carbon steel, magnesium alloy structure has several times more elastic and recoverable deformation. Aluminium alloy wheel hub
Aluminum alloy wheel is widely used in modern domestic automobile and mainstream German automobile. Because it does not need high cost, it is widely used at present. Aluminum alloy hub has strong thermal conductivity, and compared with traditional carbon steel material, aluminum alloy hub weight is lighter, has better heat dissipation. Aluminum alloy wheel has relatively small inertia resistance, tire resistance is reduced in the process of high-speed driving, which can promote the car fuel consumption to be reduced. Carbon steel and nodular cast iron
Early domestic cars, low-end Japanese cars often use carbon steel hub, this hub has a very simple manufacturing process, do not need higher costs, with strong fatigue resistance. Carbon steel and ductile iron material has a larger density, resulting in the wheel hub easy to produce a larger inertia resistance, which increases the vehicle fuel rate. At the same time, carbon steel hub lack of good corrosion resistance, rust problems often appear.
